Chapter 3: Wrong Turn, Technically

Joey navigates them forty minutes off-route and into a motel with fewer rooms than dignity requires. Through the wall that night, Lexi laughs, and Roma discovers something she can't put back.

Chapter 4: Two Rooms, Four People, Zero Dignity

A cliff walk, a pub lunch, and a bookshop found by accident. Lexi says something she's been choosing not to say. A bookseller's offhand remark lands somewhere neither of them mentions.

Chapter 5: A Town Worth the Wrong Turn

Trevally wasn't on the itinerary. A bookshop, an old woman with a direct gaze, and one word from Kane that changes the geometry of everything: don't.

Chapter 6: Fireside and Four People Being Honest

Around the fire at the cottage, Joey becomes dangerously sincere and asks the question everyone has been avoiding. Roma answers carefully. Kane remembers a single word she used six weeks after she moved in.

Chapter 7: Joey Is Not Completely Terrible

Joey attempts to say the thing he's been clocking all trip and mostly fumbles it. What he manages is enough. Lexi, it turns out, already knew.

Chapter 8: The Fight Not About Maps

A cable left behind becomes the argument about everything else. Roma names the thing that's been unsaid. Kane says I know — quietly, without defence. Lexi leaves in the morning.

Chapter 9: Three in the Car

With Lexi gone, the passenger seat is different. Coffee, coastal roads, and one pub conversation where neither of them shifts back to their original positions.

Chapter 10: Exit Here

The last miles home become the last chance to stop pretending. Roma has spent six months reading the room. Now she has to decide whether to say what she's read.
